Cut out and laminate the game and invite four children to play by choosing a dinosaur each to use as a counter. Explore the board, asking children to find the cave, swamp, footprints, dinosaur bones, hidden dinosaur eggs and nest.
Explain that the dinosaurs will follow the footprints to find the swamp and they must move from one footprint to the next. Throw the dice and ‘stomp’ the dinosaur across the same number of footprints as the number indicated on the dice. Continue taking turns and the first to reach the swamp is the winner. Keep playing until all dinosaurs are wallowing happily in the swamp!
Use the backdrop and ground layout as a backdrop and tray insert for small world play.
