Going green: ideas for a greener curriculum

With the government’s recent sustainability and climate change strategy highlighting the eagerness of young people to create a greener world, we, as educators, need to ensure we are providing opportunities for them to do this.

However, in a bid to ensure that exploring green living and the climate crisis is a positive experience that steers away from eco-anxiety, children need to feel empowered and connected with nature to help motivate them to protect their planet. Using green themes and contexts in our curriculum enables us to give children such opportunities. In this article, we explore some of the ways we can achieve this.
