Teachers’ notes: Take the class on a trip to the seaside to look at plants that live on the beach. Encourage the children to look at plants that grow in sand dunes, rock pools and so on, to record their similarities and differences. Allow the children to write down their own sentences, for example, they may decide to list the names of the plants they have found, or to point out the texture or appearance of the plants.
