Year 3 includes two sample lessons linked to the 100 Lessons Music Planning Guide. ‘Working with standard notation’ links directly to Year 3, Autumn 2. Children are asked to create rhythm grids that use conventional note lengths. In ‘Pitch and rhythm on a one-line stave’ children compose and notate short melodies using one-line staves. This lesson links directly to work in Year 3, Spring 2.
