How many hours do you spend on planning, preparation and assesment each week?

Teachers are entitled to reserve 10% of their actual timetabled teaching time for planning, preparation and assessment (PPA), but due to ever increasing workloads and responsibilities, this time is often not enough, leading to late night lesson planning and weekends full of marking. Our mission is to help give teachers more time by providing them with ready-made lesson plans and worksheets. I love teaching but there is so much to do at every level. You have to micro manage a million tasks. Parents (not all) don't seem to be involved in teaching basic skills anymore. Listening, patience and problem solving are becoming a barrier to teaching.

I am constantly late home from school and having to do lots of work in evening and weekend. Counting up the hours up these extra hours are in excess of 30 per week, every week. Often they are about 50 extra. Even then I never feel as if I am truly organised with all tracking, planning etc being completed. It has a serious impact on my family life. I have been a teacher in Primary schools for 35+ years and it is only getting worse.
