Have you heard of We Are Writers?

We Are Writers is a writing initiative from Scholastic which gives every child the chance to be an author published in their school’s very own book. Are you are aware of the project? What are your thoughts?

  1. 1% said Yes, my school has completed or will start a book in the future.
  2. 49% said Yes, but my school is not interested in starting a book.
  3. 47% said No, but my school would be interested in starting a book.
  4. 3% said No, my school would not be interested in starting a book.

I think it is a brilliant idea and would like to use it to encourage and celebrate mark making in my nursery in a similar way to a year book for children leaving to go to school. Will definately look into this as a new addition to our end of year activities.

i like books which is important
