Physical Development

Moving and Handling

Development matters: put together a sequence of actions (16-26 months); understand that equipment and tools have to be used safely (30-50 months).

Early learning goal: handle equipment and tools effectively…

What you need

Group size: small groups.

Pictures of snowmen; air-drying clay; clay board or mat; clay tools or similar equipment such as cocktail sticks or old pencils; tiny dry twigs; acrylic paint; painting equipment; strips of non-fraying fabric; small buttons.

What to do

Look at the pictures of snowmen and talk to the children about their experiences of making snowmen.
