Bedlam Week takes place this year from 12 May ‘08

Children are being asked to design a pair of pyjamas as part of the Pyjamarama competition to raise money for The Sick Children’s Trust.

The competition is part of the charity’s annual Bedlam Week in May that aims to increase awareness of childhood illnesses and fundraise for its seven homes around the UK.

The competition is open to two age groups: Years 1-3 and Years 4-6. To take part children must design and decorate a pair of pyjamas on the templates provided in the competition pack.

TV presenter Zoe Salmon, who supports the charity commented: ‘This is a great way for children to help other children and it’s great fun too.’

A donation of £1 per entry is suggested to help the charity continue the important work it does in supporting the families of sick children. Claudette Watson, Chief Executive of the charity said: ‘Children with serious conditions can face long periods in hospital so it is vital that their parents have somewhere to stay close by. We are hoping as many schools as possible will get involved and help us to support families when they really need it.’

The closing date for entries is 16 June and winners will be announced during July.
