    Sign Spell resources

The resources are a winning combination offering: a well presented story, a library of actions, easily accessible video examples, lesson plans and an interactive quiz.
I used the resources with a group of children from a Year 4 class, they participated in reading the story as well as signing and they especially liked the addition of Goober, the cheeky morphing alien.
The benefits I observed were the increased awareness and use of BSL and the enjoyment of group reading, using a story that was interactive and engaging.
The children showed their news skills off to friends and they were begging to do more!

    SignSpell

I think this is an interesting way of creating awareness and understanding of sign language at primary school level. There are many ways the resources can be used to help reading and spelling too! Highly recommended

    Sign Spell Resources

We used the Sign Spell resources as part of a smaller Y1/2 reading/spelling intervention group. The children engaged with the texts and enjoyed the sessions. The bright, colourful books were easily accessible for the group and we would definitely use them again across the whole school. Even after just a couple of weeks of using the resources, we can see that the children have remembered the key words from each page as well as being able to correctly spell them!
