Putting languages in context
Add to My Folder
Discover how new languages can be easier to tackle when linked to familiar stories and experiences
Making explicit links between subjects offers opportunities for children to revisit, reinforce and enrich their learning, gaining a deeper understanding of concepts and skills. The most obvious link with MFL is literacy: in teaching a modern language, literacy skills will be improved, as the two are closely linked. Four of the five MFL strands relate directly to literacy: Oracy, Literacy, Knowledge About Language and Language Learning Strategies.
