When writing a setting description, children often struggle to link their ideas to ensure their piece flows. Providing them with a bank of prepositions can really make a difference – they can select them and provide the reader with a detailed picture.

Although the word bank is supportive, it is important that students understand the meaning of each word. This is where the preposition game comes in handy. I often use it as a lesson starter and my students really enjoy it.
