Outdoor fun poster

How to use it

Display the poster and draw the children’s attention to it as they prepare for outdoor play. Ask appropriate questions to encourage them to think beforehand about how they might spend their time outdoors, for example, ‘Can you point to someone who is playing alone?’, ‘Can you point to a group of friends?’, ‘Do you like climbing or riding a bike best?’, ‘What kind of ball is the girl holding above her head?’ and so on. Refer to the skiing image and discuss the children’s experiences of playing in snow. Look at brochures of skiing holidays to stimulate ideas for imaginary play.
