Whatever the weather brings this month, go outdoors and enjoy these great activity ideas

Outdoor

1. Buckets of fun

Collect rainwater in four buckets. Line the children up in teams and invite them to take turns to throw small stones into the water. Tally the outcomes on a clipboard. Talk also about how much fun it is to throw stones and where and when it is safe to do so. Leave the water in the buckets in a safe place outdoors and observe any changes. They may become covered in ice or small creatures might come to live in them. Take this as an opportunity to talk about safety near water, however shallow it might be. Explain to parents what their children will learn from this activity.
