Children waving

The beginning of a new term can be a tense time for everyone – especially for children experiencing their first day at school. This topic adds a little fun to the whole experience. Nervous children will discover that they are not alone, shy children will be tempted into friendly activities, and confident children will find ways to make everybody feel welcome.

    Fantastic ideas

This is a great set of ideas to use with my SEN class of 10. They will be engaged with these activities, which can be differentiated easily to suit any age of children. The only thing I would like is that the plans be downloadable as a pdf (preferably without the additional pictures) so I can print them off and have them to hand when I am teaching. If that was an option, then I would have given this resource a 5 star rating.

    Great Ideas :)

This looks great, thank you! I will definitely use this.
I can't seem to find the activity sheet ‘Feelings – pictures and words’ though?

    Ourselves - fantastic resource

What lovely planning for welcoming a new group of children to year one.. Thank you very much, this will make our first week back a very happy one. We usually focus on PSCHE for the first couple of weeks and these activities will certainly help to settle the children and to establish rules and routines.
    Thank you
