New TV programme on BBC 4 sees Children’s Laureate try and get Cardiff children passionate about books
Children’s laureate and poet Michael Rosen is worried that children don’t seem to read as much as they used to. So, in a new TV programme that airs tonight on BBC4 at 9pm, he takes on an ordinary primary school in Cardiff to see if he can start a reading revolution in just ten weeks.
Rosen will give the staff permission to break into a packed curriculum simply to introduce good books and stories, after discovering that a lot of the children don’t have many books at home and have never visited a library.
