Harold Finds a Voice

The picture book, Harold Finds a Voice, makes a great starting point for exploring different sounds in the environment.
Harold Finds a Voice by Courtney Dicmas (Child’s Play international) tells the story of a cheerful, brightly coloured parrot who is brilliant at mimicking all sorts of noises, but doesn’t know the sound of his own voice.
One day, Harold realises he is bored with imitating the same old sounds at home and flies off to find some new sounds outdoors. As his journey progresses, he finds out what his own voice sounds like and, with the help of some newfound friends, learns to appreciate it.
