Let the children spoil their grandparents on Grandparent’s Day (the first Sunday of October) with these wonderful ideas.

Digital delight
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Explain to the children that grandparents love to know what their grandchildren are doing when they are not with them. Help the children to take some digital photographs of each other as they are involved in daily activities in your setting, for example, painting, model making, building with construction bricks, dressing up, role play, and so on. Show the children how to view the pictures on a computer. Help the children to crop, paste and assemble a selection of their favourite pictures on the computer to create a simple digital collage. Print the digital collage as the front of a personalised celebration card. Alternatively, help the children to print a selection of separate images to cut out and stick, collage-style, on to the front of a folded sheet of card. Encourage the children to write a personal message inside their card to give to their grandparents or special person on Grandparent’s Day.
