As the fifth school in the UK closes due to swine flu, the virus has now become a pandemic threat to people across the UK, with schoolchildren being particularly vulnerable to catching it in the classroom.
BrainPOP UK (www.brainpop.co.uk) – a subscriber-based educational website – has launched a free animated video aimed at children of all ages to explain the virus in just three minutes. The child-friendly video, based on government guidelines, aims to spread the ‘Catch it, Bin it, Kill it’ message, promote good hygiene and reassure any anxious children worried about swine flu.
The BrainPOP video features a cartoon character called Tim, who answers swine flu-based questions (sent in by real children) to Moby – a robot from outer space. To view the free video, visit the BrainPOP website.
