Encourage children to enjoy the outdoors with these forest school activities.

Creating a forest school incorporates the outdoors into learning. It’s a great way to encourage and inspire children through positive outdoor experiences.

A ‘forest school’ does not necessarily need to be held in a forest, it can easily be adapted to be run within school grounds. Planting a ‘wild garden’ can provide a mystery and magic akin to that of a forest. If your school does not have thousands of pounds to spend on an outdoor classroom, how about investing a couple of hundred pounds on a large, open-sided, army-designed canvas tent? It can be the stimulus for a number of activities such as the ones below.
