Raise awareness of fire safety with a visit to your local fire station

Children at the fire station

Planning a visit to your local fire station will help introduce young children to the importance of fire safety and they will have great fun on the day, too! Sue Smith tells us about her trip with her group from Sweet Pea Childcare:

‘On a sunny August day we set off for Ely Fire Station for a ‘Fire Safety Awareness’ morning and met up with three other childminders. We gathered outside Ely Fire Station to be greeted by firefighter Brett Mills along with four of his fire-fighting colleagues who kindly gave up two hours of their morning to talk and teach our youngsters the important elements of fire safety awareness.
