Father Christmas by Raymond Briggs is a wonderful starting point for activities themed around Christmas weather and relationships.

Care and responsibility

The familiar theme of care and responsibility in Brigg’s stories is quickly identified in the introduction to this book. Father Christmas is shown dreaming happily about basking in sunshine, but is suddenly awakened by his alarm clock. Annoyed by the disturbance, he is cross that it is Christmas time again. However, this does not stop him getting up and going outdoors in the snow to feed his reindeers.
