Early years book-themed crafts: journeys

By Karen Hart

Children love to share stories about the different journeys they have been on, from travels to visit relatives overseas to bus trips to the local shopping centre – every story is told just as enthusiastically.

Maps of our day

Journey map book

We made ‘maps of our day’ after reading My Map Book by Sara Fanelli. This activity proved a great conversation starter, with children keen to talk about all the different things they do during the day – both at home and at preschool.

You will need:

Two sheets of paper-card per map; eight pre-printed drawings to represent a child’s day (for children to colour in); colouring pens/pencils; scissors; glue
