Comprehension lessons don’t always have to take the classic question and answer route. Here we explore ways to develop and share understanding with an artier twist. Each of the below activities links to comprehension reading domains.

Fictional texts

Make a bookmark that retells the story in comic-strip form to show understanding of the whole story. Alternatively, create a bookmark that depicts the setting or a character based on children’s interpretation.
