In the run-up to World Book Day, educational practitioner Karen Hart will be sharing her tried and tested book-themed craft activities in a new series of online articles for Scholastic Resource Bank. The first article focuses on the theme of friendship.
Friendship is a great theme for basing activities around, especially if you are finding some of your children are having friend problems. All children do, usually many times through their childhood years, and while you often hear people say ‘they’ll work it out themselves’, it can cause genuine sadness to children, especially if they feel they are losing a best friend. The following collaborative activities are aimed at bringing friends, brothers and sisters together to create fun crafts. All the activities are built around popular picture books on the theme of friendship.
