This series provides differentiated physical development activities that meet the objectives outlined in the EYFS framework.
Everything we do is realised through movement. From hugging a friend to wielding a pencil, our physical skills and capabilities underlie each and every activity. The EYFS framework recognises the importance of physical development by making it one of the prime areas of leraning, along with Personal, Social and Emotional Development and Communication and Language.
The Physical Development area of learning is divided into two aspects, ‘Moving and Handling’ and ‘Health and Self-care’. Moving and Handling covers all aspects of both gross and refined motor skills while Health and Self-care explores body awareness and how to keep ourselves safe, clean and healthy.
