Christmas is one of the most important Christian festivals and it is certainly one of the most widely celebrated. With the birth of Jesus, came the Christian message founded upon a love of God and of each other. (The familiar events of the nativity are recounted in Luke 2: 1–19, although for the story of the wise men you must refer to Matthew chapter 2.)

Key Ideas

The story itself needs to be known. Birthdays are special and Jesus’ birthday is so special that we give and receive gifts to mark the occasion.
