Roald Dahl’s fizzwondrous characters

Celebrate the joys of Dahl’s books by encouraging your children to spend some time focussing on his wonderfully vivid characters, using these four engaging activities.

Dahl's fizzwondrous characters

All four activities require children to be familiar with characters from more than one of his stories if possible, so why not hold a Roald Dahl Read-a-thon during September? Several of his books, such as The Twits and The Magic Finger are short enough to be read aloud to the class in a few sessions and this is a great way to enjoy the magic of Dahl’s stories together. There are also some beautifully read audio extracts of Dahl’s books on the official Roald Dahl website, which could be listened to in class.
