20 years of Booktrust
Add to My Folder
This year Booktrust, the independent reading and writing charity which makes a significant contribution to the educational outcomes of children from the earliest age, is celebrating 20 years of Bookstart.
A much-loved early reading programme, Bookstart gifts free books to babies, toddlers and three-year-olds. The programme exists to give every child a flying start in life, and that’s why Scholastic are supporting the campaign to help secure it for future generations. We’ll be celebrating everything that’s special about Bookstart, including the 30 million free books that have been gifted since babies first started receiving packs in1992.
Scholastic staff are signing up to the simple Bookstart 20 pledge: to share 20 books in 2012. Thousands of parents, carers, librarians, teachers, and a whole host of famous faces have already done the same. You can join us by filling out the pledge postcard in your local library or making the pledge online here .
