1. Friendly faces

Talk with your children about Jesus’ friends, his disciples and how much Jesus must have meant to them. Tell the children some of the disciples’ names – are these names familiar to them? What are their own friends called? Discuss friendship and what makes a special friend. Use paper plates to collage a friendly face expression. Invite children to think about the different features and how mouths, eyebrows and eyes can reflect happiness.

    Easter Sunday

Please note that it is inaccurate to say that Jesus was ‘welcomed to heaven’ on Easter Sunday. The Bible clearly states that this was the first time Jesus was seen alive after the resurrection, followed by many more. Ascension day (on the fortieth day of Easter) is when Christians remember Jesus’ return to heaven, not Easter Sunday.
