Kitchen cupboard science – the body

Investigate the effects of food on the body with resources found in your kitchen cupboard

The wide range of foods and equipment in our kitchen cupboards make ideal resources for practical science lessons. Our new series will be exploring how to use everyday items to enliven a range of science topics.

And where better to start than using the things in your kitchen cupboard to help children learn about the effect of foods on the body? With such readily available materials, children could even repeat experiments at home, which will help to reinforce their understanding and encourage them to recognise scientific concepts in a range of contexts.
