What you need
Apples; various props.
What to do
Have fun inventing ‘apple rhymes’ together, based on firm favourites with which your children are already familiar. For example, you could adapt traditional rhymes to: Five green apples hanging on the tree (Ten green bottles), Once I saved an apple pip (Once I found a cherry stone), Five round apples in the grocer’s shop (Five currant buns).
Extend this activity by asking children to make up actions using apples and with additional props, as necessary.
