Rivers: Voices of the village

Use these ‘voices’ as background information to help the children understand why the river is so important to the villagers and why they want to stand up to the merchant. Talk about the effect that climate has on the availability of fresh water and how human activity can also damage precious water supplies. Follow up with a discussion about the different ways we all use water and where our water comes from.
