Shape and space – match the shapes

Teachers’ notes: Use these shape cards for developing children’s vocabulary and listening skills. Begin by splitting the matching cards into two separate sets. Working in pairs, children should spread out one set of cards face-up on the table. The other set is kept in a pile. One child takes a card from the pile and describes the sequence of shapes to their partner. They must listen carefully to the description and find the matching card from the table. Children then swap roles.
