Develop positional and directional vocabulary using fieldwork and mapping skills

Learning objective: observe, visualise and describe positions, directions and movements using common words.

You will need

An enlarged copy of a street map of your local area; if possible, a photograph of the outside of each child’s home, and their address and postcode on a sheet of paper; copies of Where we live and I spy (see linked resources below); a computer with internet access; washing line and pegs; strips of paper and a selection of felt-tipped pens.
