Try these simple classroom games to develop children’s listening skills
We are all used to the habit of ‘tuning out’ certain sounds – it is something that comes naturally and instinctively, a type of subconscious selection that we aren’t always aware we are doing. For younger children, growing up in a media age of ever noisier distractions, this is a ‘skill’ that can hamper their ability to focus and be attentive to sounds. The following simple games are therefore an ideal way of developing sound discrimination with your class.
