Celebrate the anniversary of the coronation of England’s most notorious monarch
King Henry VIII was born in 1491 and died in 1547. Henry was born at the royal palace of Greenwich on 28 June 1491 – the second son of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York. After the death of his father, Henry was crowned King aged 17, in Westminster Abbey on 24 June 1509. Famous for his six marriages and break with the Roman Catholic church, Henry is arguably England’s most notorious monarch.
