Oscar and the snail

Oscar and the Snail: A book about things that we use by Geoff Waring (Walker Books, ISBN 9781406307047) encourages young children to explore everyday objects, finding out how they work, as well as thinking about natural and man-made materials.

Covering various elements of Key Stage 1 science, including 1c (Sorting and using materials), 2d (Grouping and changing materials) and 2e (Forces and movement), it acts as a starting point both to raise questions and address any misconceptions the children may already have.
