High-quality childcare is essential for all parents and their children. With this in mind, the Government’s aim is to see an Early Years Professional (EYP) in every children’s centre by 2010, and in every full daycare setting by 2015

Early Years Professional Status

‘Every Child Matters’ was published by the Government in November 2004, and brought about changes in attitudes towards children and young people, with particular reference to their future potential.

One of the first priorities was to raise standards in the quality of care, education and provision for young children so that they are given the best start possible. Recently, the focus for a better quality of service for children and families has led to the introduction of a new-style Ofsted inspection, which looks at how settings can provide the best outcomes for children.
