When it comes to fireworks, the sky really is the limit! A fun theme to inspire art, literacy and drama activities

Children dressed as fireworks

According to Charles Clarke, ‘Enjoyment is the birthright of every child.’ But what about us adults too? With role-play we all get a chance to have fun and share in the creativity and learning that is taking place. I often try to pick topics and themes that get me excited (fireworks being one!) so that I can pass on my enthusiasm to the children.

Fireworks is a great theme because it encompasses so many areas of learning and, more importantly, it is something that the majority of children will have experienced – either on bonfi re night, at a birthday party or as part of a religious celebration such as Divali. This also provides many avenues into the topic, with opportunities for children from different backgrounds to share their personal experiences.
