Girls seem to grasp the concept of reading from a much earlier age than boys, and the Institute of Education suggests that girls are doing better than boys by the age of three overall academically. Why is there a prominent divide between boys’ and girls’ reading behaviour? Can teaching techniques and technology encourage and motivate boys to want to read? Are parents an influencing force that can change boys’ opinions of reading?
